Les dirigeants saoudien et émirati accusent l'Iran d'une "dangereuse escalade"
The Saudi crown prince and the president of the United Arab Emirates accused Iran of provoking "a dangerous escalation" by targeting its Gulf neighbors, during a telephone conversation on Monday.
Saudi Arabia's de facto ruler, Mohammed bin Salman, and Mohammed bin Zayed discussed "the ongoing and blatant Iranian attacks targeting countries in the region," according to a statement published by the Emirati news agency WAM.
The continuation of these attacks, launched in retaliation for the Israeli-American offensive against Iran, "represents a dangerous escalation threatening the security and stability of the region," they denounced.
"Both sides stressed the need for an immediate halt to the military escalation (...) and the importance of prioritizing serious dialogue and diplomatic means," without explicitly addressing either the United States or Israel, according to the statement.
On the first day of the war, February 28, the two leaders had already spoken by telephone, for the first time since their differences erupted in December, when Riyadh accused Abu Dhabi of threatening its security by supporting separatists in Yemen.
