Nicolas Sarkozy : Ce criminel multirécidiviste qui lui a écrit quand il était en prison
Former French President Nicolas Sarkozy was recently interviewed on the YouTube channel Legend about his new book, "The Diary of a Prisoner." In this book, which recounts his time in the Santé prison, the former resident of the Élysée Palace reveals that he received a letter from a repeat offender named Patrick Gateau.
"I haven't forgotten Nelly Cremel's husband and daughter."
"When he wrote to me, he had already spent 19 years in prison. He wrote to me to say: 'What are you doing in prison? This is not where you belong, etc.' I have not yet responded because I am torn between the act of humanity of this man who has been in prison for 19 years (and what had happened), because I have not forgotten Nelly Crémel's husband and daughter, I have often thought of them," said the former French leader.
As a reminder, Patrick Gateau is a repeat offender sentenced in 2008 to 22 years in prison for being an accomplice in the murder of Nelly Crémel in 2005.
At the time, Nicolas Sarkozy was Minister of the Interior. He said he attended the funeral mass for the deceased and met her daughter, as well as her husband, a former soldier.
