Toulouse : un père de famille agressé au couteau par le groupe d’amis de sa fille

The 58-year-old man was helpless. On Sunday, December 28, a father of four was attacked by four teenagers following a violent altercation. Beaten severely, he was stabbed in the buttocks, resulting in a fractured femur. "The stab wound itself is not serious, but the blow or a fall could have caused the fracture. The investigation will determine this," David Charmatz, the public prosecutor of Toulouse, told Le Figaro.
The incident occurred in Tournefeuille, near Toulouse. According to a police source speaking to Le Figaro, the man was trying to retrieve his daughter, "possibly a runaway." The prosecutor's office indicated that a similar incident "may have already occurred in the recent past."
After locating her, he went to the location with his partner, where the teenager appeared to be meeting up with a group of friends. "Fearing her friends," the father reportedly intervened to bring his daughter back, at which point the group reacted with unexpected violence, according to our police source.
The detentions have been lifted.
Upon witnessing the scene, the mother immediately called emergency services. Police officers arrived on the scene and arrested the four teenagers, while the knife was recovered. The minors were taken into custody, but their detention was lifted "pending further questioning of the victim," stated the public prosecutor. The victim, who was hospitalized, underwent surgery and was therefore unable to be interviewed, as her statements remained "unintelligible" at this time.
The young people involved were previously unknown to the police but remain "perfectly located." An investigation has been opened for "assault and battery committed by a group and with a weapon." Simultaneously, "an educational assessment has been launched" to evaluate the family context surrounding the girl's escape.
