"Flights to and from DXB are gradually resuming to some destinations, following the temporary suspension implemented as a precautionary measure ," Dubai Airport wrote on X.
Flights cancelled or diverted
The Dubai government press office also confirmed the incident, describing it as a drone attack, adding that the situation was "under control" and that no injuries had been reported. As a result, numerous flights were either canceled or diverted from Dubai to Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC). Flights are gradually resuming to some destinations, the statement said. Authorities advise passengers to check with their airline for the latest flight information.
This incident occurred as several flights were scheduled to take off or land in Dubai. The Swiss daily newspaper Le Matin reports that two Emirates flights from Switzerland were affected. One had to circle Dubai for over an hour before landing, while the other had to turn back and return to its point of origin despite having flown for four hours.
