Trump menace de "rayer" l'Iran de la carte si Téhéran l'assassine
US President Donald Trump announced on Tuesday that Iran would be "wiped" off the map if Tehran orchestrated his assassination, in response to threats from a senior Iranian officer.
"I gave very clear orders. If anything happens, they will wipe them off the face of the earth," he said in an interview with News Nation on Tuesday.
Earlier in the day, Iranian General Abolfazl Shekarchi had threatened the American leader with death if Washington attacked Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
"Trump knows that if we lay a hand on our leader, we won't just cut off that hand, and that's not just talk," the officer told state media.
The US president has repeatedly threatened military intervention to end the repression of the December 28 protest movement, one of the largest since the proclamation of the Islamic Republic in 1979.
Several voices in the Iranian diaspora, including that of 2003 Nobel Peace Prize winner Shirin Ebadi, have suggested that Washington is conducting "highly targeted actions", particularly against Ali Khamenei.
Shortly after arriving at the White House a year ago, Mr. Trump had already threatened to "annihilate" Iran if Tehran attempted to take his life.
