Une majorité d’Américains juge excessive l’action militaire contre l’Iran, selon un sondage
A majority of Americans believe that U.S. military action against Iran "has gone too far ," according to an AP-NORC poll released Wednesday, as the conflict with Israel enters its fourth week.
According to the survey, 59% of respondents consider the intervention excessive. At the same time, economic concerns are growing: 45% of Americans say they are "very" or "extremely" worried about their ability to pay for gas in the coming months, compared to 30% in December 2024, after Donald Trump's re-election.
While 65% of respondents consider it a priority to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons, an equal number of 67% believe it is essential to avoid a rise in energy prices, a contradiction that could complicate the White House's position.
About 40% of Americans approve of the president's actions, a stable level, including in foreign policy.
The prospect of military escalation remains unpopular: nearly six out of ten Americans oppose a deployment of ground troops in Iran, while a large part of the population expresses a lack of confidence in the president's ability to manage the use of force abroad.
The survey was conducted from March 19 to 23 among 1,150 adults, with a margin of error of plus or minus 4 points.
