Washington : le patron de la lutte contre le terrorisme démissionne et dénonce une « guerre mensongère » !
The director of the U.S. National Counterterrorism Center (NCTC), Joe Kent, announced his resignation Tuesday on the social media platform X. This departure comes amid heightened tensions, as the American official has vehemently criticized Washington's military intervention against Tehran.
"No imminent threat"
In an unequivocal message, Joe Kent justified his withdrawal as a matter of conscience. "I cannot in good conscience support the war currently raging in Iran. Iran posed no imminent threat to our nation, and it is clear that we started this war under pressure from Israel and its powerful American lobby," he stated.
In his resignation letter to President Donald Trump, Mr. Kent outlines what he calls an influence operation. According to him, "senior Israeli officials and influential members of the American media conducted a disinformation campaign that undermined your 'America First' policy and planted the seeds of pro-war sentiment against Iran."
The specter of war in Iraq
The now-former director of the NCTC goes further in his criticism by drawing a parallel with past conflicts. For him, the idea that Iran represented an immediate danger to the United States "was a lie." He believes it is "the same tactic used by the Israelis to drag us into the disastrous war with Iraq."
In conclusion, Joe Kent makes a final appeal to the occupant of the White House: "You can still change course and chart a new path for our nation, or you can let us slide further into decline and chaos. The cards are in your hands."
