Acte contre nature : 5 ans requis contre un homme jugé pour tentative de viol sur un garçon de 5 ans
O. Diouf, 25, is being prosecuted for attempted rape, pedophilia, and abduction of a minor. He is accused of attempting to commit unnatural acts on B. Ba, a 5-year-old boy. The events occurred in 2022 in Pout. Arrested, O. Diouf was remanded in custody.
Appearing before the Criminal Chamber of the Thiès High Court on Tuesday, he made statements deemed contradictory, initially denying the charges: "I did not commit the acts I am accused of."
He then recanted his statement, admitting to having encouraged the child to have sexual relations with him. He stated that it was the first time he had done such a thing and that he didn't understand what had driven him to act that way. He also maintained that the initiative came from the minor, a version disputed by the victim's father.
A. Ba explained that his son had returned home in a state of shock and told him that O. Diouf had taken him to an unfinished building where he allegedly attempted to sexually assault him. According to him, he intervened in time to prevent his son from being assaulted a second time.
Called as a witness, the defendant's mother stated that her son suffers from mental disorders that could explain his behavior. "He is ill. It was when I wanted to take him to the hospital that his father died. He was then arrested for these acts," she told the court.
The public prosecutor emphasized that the facts are consistent and that the defendant does not appear to be a normal person, given the alleged acts. He requested a sentence of five years' imprisonment.
The verdict is scheduled for February 24, 2026.
