Affaire d'homosexualité : Elimane Ndao de France 24 porte plainte à la DSC
France 24's correspondent in Senegal, Elimane Ndao, announced that he had filed a complaint with the Special Cybersecurity Division (DSC), an entity under the Directorate of Judicial Police, following the dissemination of rumors and insulting remarks against him on social media.
In a public statement, the journalist indicates that he has filed a complaint with the DSC against "at least four formally identified individuals" whom he accuses of having disseminated "false, gross and serious information" as well as "defamatory insults" targeting him.
According to his message, the complaint has been registered and relates to facts concerning the spread of content that he considers defamatory.
In his statement, the France 24 correspondent also asserts that he is ready to return to the investigators "as early as tomorrow" to file new complaints if other individuals venture to relay these rumors.
He specifies that the people targeted by his approach have already been identified.
The source of the controversy
The case comes after Seneweb published information alleging the involvement of a journalist from an international channel, currently out of the country, in a network of alleged homosexuals dismantled by Faidherbe's research brigade.
Following these revelations, some internet users cited the France 24 correspondent in this sensitive case.
Believing that his honor had been impugned, Elimane Ndao decided to contact the Special Cybersecurity Division.
When contacted by Seneweb, he confirmed that he had filed a complaint, without going into details of the ongoing procedure.
