Khadim Ba, directeur général de Locafrique
In a major blow to Locafrique's CEO, Khadim Ba, he will not be able to spend the Eid al-Fitr holiday with his family. Ba has been in custody since September 2024.
According to reports from Seneweb, the financial crimes division of the court of appeal issued its ruling on Wednesday, March 18, 2026. The court rejected both the procedural nullity motions filed by his defense team and his application for provisional release. The defense's petitions were heard last Wednesday before the judges adjourned to deliberate.
Khadim Ba is facing prosecution for violations of foreign exchange regulations involving amounts estimated at several billion CFA francs. Since being remanded into custody, he has been held in a special medical unit due to his health condition.
Despite multiple applications for provisional release filed by his legal counsel—notably attorneys Seydou Diagne, Souleymane Soumaré, and Ciré Clédor Ly—before the panel of financial investigating judges, no such request has been granted to date.
