Agression à Thiès : B. Guèye condamné à un an de prison
The Thiès court of summary jurisdiction heard the case of B. Guèye, a mason residing in Médina Fall, who was prosecuted for conspiracy, robbery, and assault and battery against Ms. N. Sène. He was accompanied by a man named Guilaye at the time of the incident.
The two young men surprised the victim in his hair salon, near Saint Jean de Dieu Hospital, around 2 p.m., when the area was calm. The victim was assaulted, and his attackers stole his cell phone and a pouch containing 100,000 FCFA before fleeing.
The woman's cries allowed the neighbors to apprehend B. Guèye, while the other individual managed to escape.
In court, the defendant B. Guèye admitted to stealing the phone, but denied taking the pouch containing the money.
The public prosecutor described the facts as constant and extremely serious, and requested a two-year prison sentence.
In delivering his verdict, the judge found the defendant guilty and sentenced him to two years in prison, one year of which was to be served. B. Guèye must also pay the plaintiff 100,000 FCFA in damages.
