Akon arrêté et incarcéré avant d'être libéré : Voici la raison
Rapper and singer Akon (full name Alioune Thiam) was arrested last week in DeKalb County, Georgia, before being released a few hours later. According to legal documents obtained by the American media outlet TMZ, the arrest stemmed from a warrant issued for failure to appear in court regarding a suspended driver's license case.
The incident reportedly dates back to last September, when police found Akon's Tesla Cybertruck stopped in the middle of the road in Georgia. The singer, who was driving, explained to the officers that the vehicle's battery was dead.
While they waited for a tow truck, the officer discovered that Akon's license was suspended due to a failure to appear in court in January 2023. Akon was immediately ticketed for driving with a suspended license and was released at the scene.
The officer also noted in his report that an illegal electronic cigarette ("vape") had been seized from the center console and was subject to destruction.
The case took a new turn on November 7: Akon was arrested under an arrest warrant issued for his failure to appear in the suspended license case.
The performer of "Locked Up" was incarcerated in the DeKalb County jail, before being released in less than six hours.
