Alerted by repeated complaints from residents of the Léona neighborhood in Saint-Louis, the gendarmerie authorities tasked the Research Brigade with putting an end to the activities of a prostitution ring operating for over six years under the control of a woman identified by the initials AAL.
For several days, the police infiltrated the network before taking action. The investigation revealed that a local inn had been transformed into a brothel. The head of the network recruited women there, paying them 25,000 CFA francs per woman per day.
The dismantling operation, conducted at night, led to the arrest of the head of the AAL network as well as her two co-authors, Kh. K. and MT. Several prostitutes and their clients were also caught at the scene according to Seneweb sources.
The seizures made were particularly telling: sums of money from prostitution, as well as a large quantity of products linked to criminal activity, including condoms, lubricants, beds and vehicles, were confiscated.
Brought before the High Court of Saint-Louis, the three suspects were charged and remanded in custody by the investigating judge for criminal association, pimping and money laundering.
