"Convoqué à plusieurs reprises" : Le cas Baye Mayoro Diop, un récidiviste dans le viseur de sa hiérarchie
The Ministry of Urban Planning has decided to take a firm stance against the repeated actions of Baye Mayoro Diop. In an official statement published on April 5, 2026, the authorities revealed that this official is not a first-time offender: he has, in fact, been "summoned several times since September 2025 by the Minister and the Secretary General for reprimands and notification of the sanctions he faces."
Despite these multiple warnings, the official again disseminated remarks of "particular gravity" against Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko. The ministry condemns these "unacceptable attacks" which are in "total contradiction with the requirements of responsibility, restraint, and loyalty inherent in the exercise of any public function."
In light of this clear repeat offense, the Ministry wishes to clarify that these statements, "expressed in a strictly personal capacity, in no way commit the Ministry, its authorities, or the Administration as a whole." The Ministry firmly reiterates that respect for institutions and the principles of "discipline, neutrality, and discretion" constitute a "fundamental obligation for all public servants."
