Détention d’images contraires aux bonnes mœurs : Prison ferme pour Abdoulaye Seck
El Hadji Pape Abdoulaye Seck, a consultant and son of former Prime Minister Idrissa Seck, was tried on Monday for attempted extortion, possession of indecent images, and obtaining undue advantages to the detriment of Ms. Amar. The defendant, who denied the charges against him, was sentenced to two months in prison.
According to the facts, the plaintiff, Dame Amar, accuses him of having filmed him in his hotel room with naked girls in August 2025. He also accuses Pape Abdoulaye Seck, to whom he had given his bank card, of having withdrawn the sum of 10 million FCFA from his account.
"Apparently, he filed a complaint for completely false facts," said Abdoulaye Seck before continuing: "The girl sent me the video and I shared it with her as a precaution against attempted fraud by the girls who are in the video," he said.
The judge reminded him of the message he had sent to Dame Amar: "You have two minutes to come down or your video will go viral." Abdoulaye Seck retorted: "It was a preventative measure. Because I was with Sabrina, the girl, downstairs from the hotel, who was part of the group of five girls in the video. They wanted to be paid because they no longer had access to Mr. Amar," he explained.
“Those were threats,” the prosecutor asserted. “No, that was just our language,” replied Pape Abdoulaye Seck, who also denied withdrawing any money from the plaintiff’s account. “I never had her card. I’m not friends with Ms. Amar,” the defendant stated.
The plaintiff, Ms. Amar, did not appear at the hearing. She was represented by her lawyer, Mr. Adnan Yahya. According to the lawyer, the defendant Seck had a familiar relationship with the plaintiff, who had given him her bank card. Mr. Adnan Yahya requested 12 million FCFA in damages for all claims and losses. Mr. Brige Dasilva deferred to Mr. Yahya's arguments.
Considering that the facts are consistent, the public prosecutor requested that the defendant be found guilty and sentenced to two years, including three months in prison.
Defense attorney Alioune Badara Fall argued that there was insufficient evidence to secure a conviction. He asked the court not to follow the prosecutor's recommendation and requested an acquittal.
Following him, Mr. Abou Abdoul Daff emphasized that the alleged offense took place in France. "Nothing tells us that it was Pape Abdoulaye Seck who filmed it. If he was the one who filmed it, why isn't he being prosecuted for collecting money?" the lawyer asked. "You have no evidence and you don't understand French customs," Mr. Daff insisted, arguing for the dismissal of the charges.
For his part, Aly Fall believes that "there is not a shred of evidence of wrongdoing." Abdou Aziz Djigo asked the court, if it considers the facts to be established, to apply the criminal law leniently.
In delivering its verdict, the court acquitted the defendant of the charge of obtaining undue advantages. However, Abdoulaye Seck was found guilty of possessing images contrary to public decency. He was sentenced to two months in prison and ordered to pay one million CFA francs in damages.
