Eden Roc : la Sogepa condamnée à payer près de 338 millions FCFA aux copropriétaires
The civil court has ruled on the dispute between the Condominium Association of the Eden Roc residence and the National Company for the Management and Operation of State-Owned Buildings (Sogepa). In its decision, the court ordered Sogepa to pay nearly 334 million CFA francs in outstanding condominium fees. An additional 5 million CFA francs was also awarded to the association as damages.
Although mentioned in the proceedings, the State was exonerated, the court finding that its direct liability was not established. The judge further ordered the provisional enforcement of the decision, making it immediately enforceable notwithstanding any potential appeals, and ordered Sogepa to pay costs.
This case stems from the use of the residence by Sogepa for the accommodation of certain officials, a situation which led to the accumulation of unpaid charges, reports Libération.
