Fédération de Karaté : six membres, dont le président et le trésorier, livrés au Pool judiciaire financier
The Financial Judicial Pool (PJF) has received a new case. L'Observateur reports that members of the Senegalese Karate Federation are targeted. According to the daily newspaper of the Future Media Group (GFM), these include the body's president, Mouhamed El Moctar Diop, and five of his "close" associates, including the secretary general, the treasurer general, and his deputy.
In its edition of Friday, March 21, L'Observateur recalls that the procedure was initiated following a complaint from the president of the Dakar Regional Karate League, accusing them of "acts of fraud involving public funds, forgery and use of forged documents."
"The bloodhounds of the Criminal Investigation Division [DIC] will end up inheriting the case thanks to a transfer from the public prosecutor at the Dakar High Court," the daily newspaper rewinds.
The investigation, the same source believes, "has identified serious and consistent evidence likely to justify the indictment" of the accused. Moreover, the total financial loss is estimated at more than 56 million CFA francs, according to L'Obs.
For now, the Gfm headline slips, five of the suspects, arrested on March 18, have been taken into custody before being handed over to the financial prosecutor's office by the DIC. What about the sixth? L'Observateur reports that the general treasurer, Pape Babacar Guèye, has been located in Spain.
