Femme lacérée à Touba : Sa coépouse infirmière d'État condamnée à 2 mois ferme
Placed under arrest last Monday for premeditated assault and battery resulting in a 45-day work incapacity, the state-employed nurse who slashed her co-wife MO Dieng's face was tried this Thursday at the Diourbel High Court. At the end of the hearing, the defendant Y. Ndao was sentenced to two months in prison, Seneweb reported.

When questioned about the facts by the judge, state nurse Y. Ndao, assisted by her lawyer Me Cheikh Ngom, admitted to having injured her co-wife MO Dieng while denying having premeditated her act.
Returning to the seriousness of the facts, the presiding judge stated that the defendant could even have killed the plaintiff, but God decided otherwise.
The second wife, MO Dieng, stated that the defendant waited for their husband to leave before committing the act. According to the complainant, she left her ground-floor apartment to meet her in her upstairs apartment.
But the state nurse said she wanted to clean the living room because her co-wife was not in a position to do so.
It was in these circumstances that she was attacked, according to her version of events.
"We never had a problem because I'm even her first love. I couldn't control myself because she was attacking me," the defendant said.
In his closing argument, the deputy prosecutor requested the application of the law.
The lawyer for the plaintiff stated that the facts are consistent, and the injuries are clearly physical and serious. Mr. Serigne Diongue dismissed the claim of self-defense put forward by the accused state-employed nurse. He believes the defendant took advantage of her husband's absence to go to the victim's apartment.
Therefore, Mr. Diongue requested an exemplary sanction to prevent any possible recurrence.
But the defendant's counsel took the opposite stance to his colleague, declaring that Y. Ndao did not premeditate her act because she intended to clean the salon.
"There is only one living room in the house. If my client had a weapon, her co-wife would have detected it. Even though we regret her behavior, she did not have that intention," he says.
For Mr. Cheikh Ngom, no evidence in the case file proved that his client had premeditated her actions. However, he expressed regret over the events, stating that the defendant should not have behaved in such a way. Mr. Ngom requested leniency in the application of the law.
In its ruling, the court found the defendant guilty only of assault and battery. She was sentenced to two months in prison. Judge Mbow reserved judgment on the civil party's rights. Seneweb learned from attorney Serigne Diongue that the civil party's medical expenses are being covered by their husband.
As a reminder, this case involving co-wives made headlines in the Ñari Pneu neighborhood of Touba. Y. Ndao, a state-registered nurse, had, during a violent altercation, slashed the face of her co-wife MO Dieng, inflicting serious injuries.

Pour une "diffamation ou un outrage à un magistrat, quelqu'un a fait 3 mois de prison ferme au Sénégal. Pour une agression aussi sauvage, ça doit être deux ans minimum.
En Côte d'Ivoire, une dame qui a bastonné et blessé sa rivale (la maîtresse de son mari) a été condamnée à 5 ans de prison ferme.
Dans 2 mois cette dame aura tjr ses blessures sur son visage, faut pas s’etonner dans 2 ou 3 mois si elle se venge.
