During Omar Sow's trial on June 4, 2025, at the Dakar Criminal Court, a heated exchange erupted between Mr. El Hadji Diouf, the defendant's lawyer, and the public prosecutor, threatening to derail the hearing. Prosecuted for spreading false information, Omar Sow was questioned about his statements on January 27, 2025, when he stated on Seneweb that the prosecutor's office had scheduled Ismaila Madior Fall to be placed under an electronic tag.
Mr. Diouf advised his client not to answer the prosecutor's question, provoking a scathing reaction from the latter: "Counsel, stop putting on a show. Your colleagues are not happy with you." Furious, Mr. Diouf raised his voice, threatening to file a complaint if the prosecutor did not withdraw his remarks. Despite the tension, the judge, who was policing the hearing, calmed the situation, allowing the proceedings to continue without the prosecutor backing down.
