Incident devant le Pavillon spécial : Après ses regrets, un proche de Farba Ngom placé en garde à vue
There's a new development in the investigation launched after a video surfaced showing a highly agitated man outside the special ward of Le Dantec Hospital. The suspect, identified as Abdou Aziz Diop, deputy mayor of the Agnams commune, has been taken into custody at the Faidherbe research brigade, part of the Dakar gendarmerie company.
According to Seneweb sources close to the case, he is being prosecuted for insulting an officer, inciting a gathering and disturbing public order.
During his official statement, Abdou Aziz Diop attempted to justify his behavior to the prison guards. He maintained that he possessed a visiting permit but claimed he was denied access to the Special Pavilion by the prison guards. He reportedly expressed regret for his actions to investigators.
Nevertheless, the public prosecutor at the Dakar High Court ordered his detention on the three charges against him. The suspect is expected to be brought before a judge this Thursday, January 15, 2026, barring any changes to the schedule.
This close associate of Farba Ngom had presented himself this morning to the summons of the gendarmes of the BR of Faidherbe.
