Louga :Les huit chauffeurs grévistes de Dahra condamnés à un mois ferme.
The Louga High Court this morning sentenced the eight striking Dahra drivers to one month in prison and a fine of 50,000 francs each.
The defendants are being prosecuted for destruction of property belonging to others, criminal conspiracy and disturbing public order.
As a reminder, the accused were arrested on Tuesday, April 7th in Dahra. Being on strike, they were preventing their non-striking colleagues from transporting passengers to Dakar. Even worse, they are accused of having smashed the windshield of a "War Gainde" bus carrying passengers bound for Dakar.
Alerted, the gendarmes from the Dahra brigade, under the command of Chief Warrant Officer Séne, went to the scene. The eight strike supporters were arrested and taken into custody. They were brought before the Louga prosecutor's office on Friday, April 10, 2026, on charges of property damage, endangering the lives of others, and obstructing the free movement of people.
