Mamadou Doumbia, patron de Prestige TV et Président de « Thiès Ca Kanam, placé sous mandat de dépôt
Real estate developer Mamadou Doumbia, computer engineer Malick Bâ, and Cheikhou Diop were arrested on Thursday, April 9, by the Thiès Research Section. Implicated in a case of forging administrative documents, they were remanded in custody before being brought before the prosecutor at the Thiès High Court. After two appearances before the prosecutor, they were formally charged on Wednesday, April 15, by the investigating judge of the first chamber.
Mamadou Doumbia, also known as Pape Doumbia, is charged with criminal association, usurpation of function, fraud, counterfeiting and sale of letterhead or official printed matter used in public administrations, undue acquisition of seals, marks or official printed matter used in public administrations, complicity in forgery and use of forged documents in an administrative document, and money laundering.
Malick Bâ, for his part, is charged with criminal association, forgery and use of forged documents in an administrative document.
The presiding judge ordered the detention of the accused Mamadou Doumbia and Malick Bâ. Their accomplice, Cheikhou Diop, was placed under judicial supervision. Mamadou Doumbia, who also owns Prestige TV and is president of the "Thiès Ca Kanam" movement, will spend the night at the Thiès prison, along with his co-defendant, Malick Bâ. Real estate developer Mamadou Doumbia had previously been arrested for similar offenses.
