Non lieu : Ndèye Saly Diop Dieng réagit

Charged and placed under judicial supervision on May 19th for the alleged embezzlement of 52 million CFA francs in connection with the management of Covid-19 funds, the former Minister of Women, Family, Gender, and Child Protection, Ndèye Saly Diop Dieng, has been officially cleared. The investigating committee of the High Court of Justice issued a dismissal, which was notified this Tuesday, March 3rd, to her lawyers: Souleymane Soumaré, Sally Mamadou Thiam, Oumar Youm, and Aly Fall.
"An unsurprising relief"
In an interview with L'Observateur, the former minister said she received the decision calmly. "I welcomed this dismissal with great relief, but without surprise," she said. "Deep down, I knew it couldn't be otherwise. I always believed in my innocence and I always had faith that the truth would come out."
Macky Sall's former collaborator wanted to thank those who supported her during this ordeal: "I would like to warmly thank all the relatives in Dakar, Ndiambour and Cayor, as well as all those who showed me their support, their prayers and their trust during these trying months. Their affection and steadfastness deeply touched me."
She concluded: "I am and will remain a staunch republican, firmly believing in the justice of my country."
