As part of the fight against drug trafficking, the Regional Narcotics Brigades (BRS) under the Central Office for the Repression of Illicit Drug Trafficking (OCRTIS) carried out several raids between December 20 and 22, 2025. These interventions led to the arrest of four individuals and the seizure of more than 17 kilograms of Indian hemp, according to Seneweb sources.

Fatick: 16 kg of drugs seized, a taxi driver arrested

On December 20, 2025, at 10:00 PM, officers from the Fatick BRS (Brigade de Recherche et de Sécurité - Research and Security Brigade) arrested EHC, 47, a taxi driver, during a patrol in the village of Karamba. The suspect was riding a Jakarta motorcycle carrying 16 kilograms of marijuana.

When questioned, EHC stated that the drugs belonged to Aladji (alias Djepi) and Yankhoba, the recipient and supplier respectively, both based in Gambian territory. The drugs and the motorcycle were seized. The suspect was taken into custody after being informed of his right to legal counsel.

Saint-Louis: An electrician denounces his supplier

On December 20, 2025, at 9:30 p.m., officers from the Saint-Louis BRS arrested MT, a 25-year-old electrician residing in Gandon, in Ngaye-Ngaye. He was in possession of 571 grams of Indian hemp and two packets of the same drug.

Caught red-handed with a cone of cocaine, the suspect readily implicated his regular supplier, Omar Kana. A search of Kana's room yielded 571 grams of drugs, despite his attempt to flee. An investigation is underway to apprehend him. The drugs and seized items have been temporarily impounded for safekeeping.

Kolda: A farmer arrested during a packaging session

On December 22, 2025, officers from the Kolda Regional Anti-Drug Brigade (BRS), through their Diaobé unit, arrested ADD, a farmer residing in the village of Ngonky. This arrest followed operational intelligence indicating significant cannabis trafficking in the area.

A reconnaissance and surveillance operation was launched. Investigators caught the suspect, nicknamed "Coumba Yalla," in the act of using and packaging marijuana in his room. He was arrested in possession of 100 grams of loose marijuana, 30 packets of marijuana, scissors, and packaging papers.

Kaolack: A bricklayer arrested with 18 cones

On December 22, 2025, at 2:25 PM, the Kaolack BRS (Brigade de Répression du Sécurité - Security Brigade) arrested MD, 51 years old, a mason, married and father of eight, in the Sara neighborhood. He was in possession of 18 packets of Indian hemp, which were seized.

These operations demonstrate the intensification of the fight against drug trafficking throughout the country. The suspects will be brought before the competent judicial authorities in the coming days.
