Procès pour licenciement abusif: L’ISEG et Aïssatou Seydi renvoyés dos à dos
The Dakar Higher Labour Court, ruling on social matters, issued its decision on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, in the case of unfair dismissal opposing the Higher Institute of Entrepreneurship and Management (ISEG) to Aïssatou Seydi, its former general manager.
In her petition, Ms. Seydi explains that she received service note no. 003.6/PR/11 from the president of ISEG, notifying her of the termination of her duties as director of the institute, on January 27, 2020. She maintains that her dismissal was without just cause and therefore unfair. This argument is refuted by ISEG, which cites job abandonment.
In its deliberations, ruling publicly, in adversarial proceedings and at first instance, the court first rejected the objection of non-communication of documents raised during the proceedings, before declaring the action admissible.
On the merits, the court stated that Aïssatou Seydi and ISEG were bound by an open-ended employment contract (CDI), subject to the statutory notice period, since January 1, 2013. The judge also considered that there had been no substantial modification of the contract binding the parties.
Consequently, the court dismissed Aïssatou Seydi's remaining claims. ISEG's counterclaim was also dismissed.
Another case is underway…
On January 15, 2026, another legal dispute between the president of ISEG, Mamadou Diop, his ex-wife Aïssatou Seydi, and Mamadou Bâ was heard at the Dakar Criminal Court. However, the case was adjourned until April 2, 2026, at the request of the plaintiff. This case concerns the building located at number 9023 in the Sicap Sacré-Cœur neighborhood, from which the plaintiff, Mamadou Diop, was evicted in July 2025. The defendants, Aïssatou Seydi and Mamadou Bâ, are being prosecuted for conspiracy, fraud, breach of trust, as well as forgery and use of forged official documents.
