Révision du procès Mame Mbaye Niang : Les avocats de Sonko révèlent de « nouveaux éléments » et dénoncent un mensonge d’État
The lawyers for the current Prime Minister, Ousmane Sonko, have broken their silence. Speaking to the press on Monday, December 22, 2025, they revealed what they describe as a serious judicial manipulation that led to their client's conviction for defamation in 2023; a decision that, at the time, disqualified him from the presidential race.
At the heart of their revelations: "the proven existence of the PRODAC report", which was declared non-existent by the prosecution and the court during the initial trial.
A judicial speed "unprecedented in history"
From the outset, Mr. Sonko's lawyers criticized the conditions of the 2023 trial. Me Macodou Ndour denounced a judicial sequence "unique in the annals", highlighting an unusual speed of execution.
“In over thirty years of practice, I have never seen a defamation case decided at first instance and upheld on appeal with such speed. The appeal was heard even before it was officially registered,” he insisted. According to the defense, the six-month suspended sentence was no coincidence: it corresponded precisely to the threshold for rendering Ousmane Sonko ineligible to hold office.
The PRODAC report: "A lie by omission"
The conviction was based on one assertion: that the PRODAC report cited by Ousmane Sonko did not exist. Today, the lawyers claim to have proof to the contrary. They allege the document was signed, approved, and archived as early as 2018.
"Our client's conviction is based on a deliberate lie. It was argued in court that this report did not exist, even though it implicates clearly identified responsibilities," said Mr. Ndour.
Following this discovery, a special commission composed of senior magistrates was convened. After review, it issued a favorable opinion on the retrial, concluding that these new elements raised "serious doubts" about the Prime Minister's guilt.
Dismissing the criticism, the defense clarified that the amnesty law cannot block this review. The review process is governed by an organic law, which takes precedence over the amnesty law. Furthermore, the lawyers pointed out that the civil judgment (200 million FCFA) remains enforceable, thus justifying the need to completely exonerate their client.
Towards a new trial and reparations
If the Supreme Court deems the request admissible, the case will be sent back to a new Court of Appeal. In the event of an acquittal, Ousmane Sonko could seek damages for wrongful conviction. His lawyers have also not ruled out suing those responsible for what they consider a "malicious denunciation."
For the defense, this case goes beyond the personal case of Ousmane Sonko: "The damage is immeasurable. Millions of Senegalese have been deprived of their right to freely choose their candidate," concluded Me Macodou Ndour.

Si vous remarquez bien, vous verrez que ces avocats se gardent bien de parler des 29 milliards. Ils insistent sur le terme "épinglé" , pour s'accrocher à une phrase du rapport IGF qui reproche à mame Mbaye niang la signature d'un ordre de ... démarrage des travaux. C'est ça qu'ils veulent mettre dans le terme "épinglé". Ousmane sonko utilisa sa station de premier ministre pour se laver à grande eau en utilisant la justice pour ce faire.
Car il ne suffit Pas d etre intelligent pour compréndre que si c est maintenant apres tout ce temps ecoule qu ils viennent nous soulevér toutes ces anomalies,c est peut etre qu en occupant la primature, on a la posibilite d avoir Tous les dossiers de l etat entre ses mains? Et pour moi cela constituerait un probleme t etique!
Quand je disais " dites à sonko de fermer sa gueule" vous m aviez insulté. Mais balancez les justificatifs, c simple. Vous avez fini de fabriquer vos mensonges mais les sénégalais sont très intelligent
Seul Dieu est un Juge Juste. J'ai pitié pour nos juges magistrats. Se faire malmener par des politiciens à leurs dépens ne les honorera pas.

Ce n’est pas comme vous dite la première fois que des Sénégalais font d’un autre Sénégalais ( UN ÊTRE SUPÉRIEUR) Oui je dis que c’est faux! Car regarde bien dans ton pays certains Sénégalais disent que leur marabout est tout bonnement DIEU, en plus d’autres inepties encore plus mensongères les que les autres. Bon voilà! Voulez vous rectifier ceci publiquement une fois pour toute, pour ceux qui sont en croyance dans de telles BOKALES, puissent enfin avoir le choix d’une seconde chance, celle de leur libre arbitre tout en étant critiques et objectifs envers eux.
