Tombeur de «Pape Cheikh Diallo et Cie» : rencontre avec le chef de la brigade de recherches de Keur Massar
Commander of the Keur Massar research brigade, El Hadji Abdoul Aziz Gning, is leading the sprawling investigation into a network of followers of unnatural acts, among other offenses. As part of this case, his men have arrested more than fifty suspects, including celebrities such as radio host Pape Cheikh Diallo, singer Djiby Dramé, columnist Kader Dia, journalist Ousmane Kadior Cissé, and religious singer Ass Dione. Source A met with him last Saturday to create a profile of him, allowing the public to put a face to the name of the head of the gendarmerie who has been in the news for the past two months.
Despite the reporter's perspicacity, the daily newspaper hit a brick wall. "Come to my office, but you only have a minute," Commander Gning said, walking past the journalist who had been waiting for him. "Commander, the Senegalese people want to put a face to your name. Can we do a profile of you?" the journalist began. His interlocutor smiled: "My profile? That's what everyone wants."
Source A's correspondent returns to the attack, using a cunning tactic: "You're even being mistaken for someone named Calaw Tine on social media." The head of the Keur Massar brigade, impassive, replies: "Yes, I've noticed. That's what I find amusing about this story. But I am El Hadji Abdoul Aziz Gning. Just write that in large print. I am the commander of the Keur Massar research brigade, not to be confused with Commander Tine."
The interview ended, and it was back to business as usual: "Not another word, he was just presented with a suspect lost in a sports betting case," sighed the Source A journalist.
