« Tu as deux minutes pour... » : l'ultimatum de Pape Abdoulaye Seck à Dame Amar
As exclusively reported by Seneweb, Pape Abdoulaye Seck, son of former Prime Minister Idrissa Seck, could be brought before the prosecutor's office at the Dakar High Court this Tuesday. Arrested following a complaint filed by his friend Dame Amar, son of the late businessman Ameth Amar, he was placed in police custody at the Special Cybersecurity Division (DSC).
He is being prosecuted for alleged theft, fraud, and blackmail involving several million CFA francs. According to the complaint, the events began during a joint trip to Paris. The complainant claims he entrusted his bank card to the accused for a one-off withdrawal, but the latter allegedly made numerous fraudulent transactions without his knowledge. The total loss is estimated at approximately 11 million CFA francs, including an initial withdrawal of 10,000 euros, or nearly 6.6 million CFA francs, and expenses incurred in Parisian nightclubs, L'Observateur reports.
The same source adds that "Abdoulaye Seck subsequently left France for Dubai" and that "it was in this city that Dame Amar claims to have found him and demanded the return of the funds."
It was also there that the son of the former Prime Minister under Abdoulaye Wade allegedly became embroiled in an extortion attempt, sending a compromising video to his friend. According to the newspaper of the Groupe Futurs Médias, the threatening message, recorded in the complaint, is unequivocal: "You give me 20,000 euros (13,119,140 FCFA), otherwise I'll release the video on social media. You have two minutes to respond."
In response to these actions, Dame Amar contacted the DSC.
As a reminder, Pape Abdoulaye Seck is no stranger to legal troubles. Arrested in May 2024 by the Central Office for the Repression of Illicit Drug Trafficking (OCRTIS) in a cocaine case, he was granted provisional release after three months of detention.
