While preparing a duet with the young singer Ash The Best, the dean of Senegalese music, Souleymane Faye "Diégo," is the target of criticism from those urging him to retire. Faced with these attacks, the artist has not failed to provide a vibrant response.
"At 75, people often say to me: Souleymane, rest now. But how can I rest when the music continues to beat within me? When I see these young talents carrying our musical heritage so high?" he said.
Souleymane Faye is therefore not ready to leave the stage. He confided that his artistic soul was moved by listening to the new generation. Among the talents who inspire him, he cited: Ash The Best, "and his voice that caresses the soul"; Carlou D, "and his lyrics that speak to the heart"; Kya Loum, "and his melodies that dance with the wind"; Massamba Amadeus, "and his captivating notes"; OBREE DAMAN, "and his respectful audacity"; Salihou Jam, "and his rhythms that make time beat."
"So I said No, I won't shut up again. I want to sing WITH them," Souleymane Faye persisted.
According to the artist, the duets he plans with these young people are not a farewell, but a true rebirth. "Each collaboration will be like an outstretched hand between two eras that love each other. My wrinkled voice will embrace their youthful voices. My memories will meet their dreams," he said.
Souleymane Faye invites the Senegalese to listen to these “musical conversations” and to
to be witnesses to this transmission which takes place in both directions.
“Because listening to them makes me feel young again. And who knows? Maybe by listening to me, they will feel a little wiser. Come share these unique moments with us. Your presence is the greatest reward for an artist,” he concluded.
For him, music remains the only language where "the wrinkles of the voice dance with the youth of the heart."

Loumouy toupe topatol say bakar.
