Claudy Siar : « Les choses sont très mal engagées pour moi aujourd’hui, avec RFI… »
Claudy Siar, the star presenter of the RFI program "Couleurs tropicales," recently appeared on the set of Espace TV Guinée. The Paris native discussed his humanitarian stances and the "heavy price" he pays professionally for this "fight."
“I am paying a very high price for my commitments. As you know, a little over a year ago now, I was fired from France 24, following some remarks I made. And things are very, very bad for me today, with RFI,” the presenter revealed.
"In France, if you're Black, it's either you stay in your place, or you have to put up with it..."
He points out that his commitments have nevertheless "never given rise to complaints from the supervisory bodies of France Médias Monde (RFI, France 24, Monte Carlo Doualiya), nor from associations, nor from individuals. A reality that encourages him to continue on his path."
The Guinean journalist, taken aback by his remarks, asked him if he lived in the same France where liberty, equality, and fraternity are defended. Claudy Siar's response was as sudden as it was clear.
“In France, if you’re Black, it’s either you stay in your place, or you have to face the wrath of the media, political, economic, and intellectual powers. That’s just how it is. I’ve always understood it, I’ve always known it. And today, I’m paying a very high price for it,” declared the host of Couleurs Tropicales. He remains convinced, however, that no one will be able to end his fight.
