Mourning in Guéoul: President Diomaye pays tribute to Cheikh Makhfou Aïdara
A wave of emotion swept through the religious community and the entire country following the passing of Sheikh Makhfou Aïdara, known as "Chérif Beuh," the khalifa of the family of Sheikh Makhfou Ould Cheikhna Cheikh Saadbou, in a tragic accident in Diama. The tragedy also claimed the lives of his two wives.
In a message filled with compassion, the President of the Republic, Bassirou Diomaye Faye, expressed his profound sadness at this loss. He paid tribute to the memory of a respected religious leader, renowned for his commitment to serving the faith and the community.
"I pay tribute to a respected religious leader, in service to the faith and the community," said the head of state, thus testifying to the importance of the role played by the deceased within the brotherhood and Senegalese society.
On behalf of the Nation, the President offered his deepest condolences to the family of the deceased, to the new caliph, Sheikh Chaya Aïdara, as well as to the Khadriya community and the entire Ummah.
The President of the Republic concluded his message with a prayer, imploring divine mercy: that Allah welcome them into His Paradise.
