Senegalese Radio and Television (RTS) is in mourning. External producer Serigne Modou Mamoune Amar passed away on Tuesday, plunging the entire public broadcasting community into mourning.
A man of faith, humility, and dedication, Serigne Modou Mamoune Amar left his mark on the Senegalese media landscape. Through his numerous religious programs, including the famous "Thursday Vigil," he enlightened, taught, and inspired generations of viewers. His calm voice, his rigor, and the depth of his words made him a respected and beloved figure among the public.
For many years, he devoted his knowledge and spirituality to popularizing Islamic values, making national television a true space for religious education and spiritual communion.
Serigne Modou Mamoune Amar was buried this Tuesday afternoon in Darou Salam.
