Fin du suspense, Taylor Swift et Travis Kelce sont mariés

Pop star Taylor Swift and American football player Travis Kelce are married, the singer's spokeswoman announced Friday, confirming rumors that had been circulating for weeks.
This announcement comes as a very large-scale event, bringing together many celebrities and presented by the American press as their wedding, has been taking place since Thursday evening at Madison Square Garden in New York.
"The ceremony uniting the two families was officiated by their friend (the comedian) Adam Sandler," said Tree Paine, Taylor Swift's spokesperson. The artist's brother, Austin Swift, and the athlete's brother, Jason Kelce, were the witnesses.
The couple were dressed by Jonathan Anderson for Christian Dior and wore Christian Louboutin shoes. The bride wore Cartier jewelry, Taylor Swift's spokesperson also said.
At the same time as their press release was sent to the media, the message "JUST&T MARRIED" ("Just married", a play on the couple's initials) appeared on the advertising boards of Madison Square Garden.
No images of the wedding have been released yet.
In the afternoon, a large number of vehicles with tinted windows descended on the famous performance hall and sports arena, transporting a thousand guests, according to the press.
Actors Ethan Hawke, Hugh Grant and Bradley Cooper, singers Ed Sheeran and Benson Boone, models Gigi Hadid and Karlie Kloss, actress Dakota Johnson and singer Camila Cabello were seen on their way to the venue.
According to media reports, a reception is planned for the evening, during which singer Stevie Nicks and country musician Tim McGraw, among others, will perform.
At the same time, the Empire State Building will be illuminated in "sparkling light blue" in tribute to the newlyweds, the iconic monument's website announces.
The couple's union, which according to CBS had generated over $2 million in online bets, had not been officially confirmed until now. But the few dozen fans gathered around Madison Square Garden had little doubt.
"I've been a huge Taylor Swift fan for 15 years, I grew up with her music and I'm really excited to be in New York on her wedding day," Mayan Menahem, 31, who recently moved to the metropolis after finishing her studies in Boston, told AFP.
However, heavy rain and a severe thunderstorm warning forced many fans to return home, according to CNN.
A mix of extravagance and secrecy, the wedding, described as the "wedding of the century" or the "royal wedding" by observers, began on Thursday with a dinner bringing together about a hundred people, according to the media.
The cost of the festivities is unknown, but Forbes magazine estimates it to be over $20 million.
The couple donated $26 million to various American charities for the occasion, according to Taylor Swift's spokesperson.
The press reports that most of the guests are bound by confidentiality agreements and all are deprived of mobile phones.
For part of the day, the streets surrounding Madison Square Garden were closed, under the watchful eye of a large number of police officers.
This angered Natalie Reed, a New Yorker in her fifties. "The police officers work hard enough fighting crime in this city, we don't need them dealing with Taylor Swift's wedding guests," she fumed.
"It's nothing at all, it's a piece of cake for New York," said Jed, in his sixties, who did not want to give his last name.
Other frustrated parties include food truck owners, forced to relocate or close down. One of them, wishing to remain anonymous, told AFP he was "losing a large sum of money".
The event also gave rise to some original ideas: Jake Epstein, a 22-year-old New Yorker, set himself the challenge of recording himself live for several hours in front of the wedding venue, until he had said "Taylor Swift" 100,000 times, in temperatures approaching 40°C.
This is not the first time a musician has chosen Madison Square Garden for his wedding: Sly Stone got married there in June 1974 during a concert by his band, Sly and the Family Stone.
At 36, Taylor Swift was at the top of the global music sales charts in 2025 for the fourth consecutive year and the sixth time in her career, according to the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI).
Travis Kelce, also 36 years old, won three Super Bowls with the Kansas City Chiefs, in 2019, 2022 and 2023.
The couple made their relationship official two years ago and got engaged in August 2025.
