Gamou de Bignona : l'exhortation poignante de l’Imam Ratib Fansou Bodian
During the Gamou celebration in Bignona, Imam Ratib Fansou Bodian delivered a powerful message centered on faith, gratitude, and unity. The official ceremony was attended by a large government delegation of five ministers, led by Interior Minister Bamba Cissé.
The Gamou of Bignona, presided over by Imam Ratib Fansou Bodian, was marked by a speech imbued with faith and gratitude. The Imam reminded those present that true wealth lies in the fear of God and the sincerity of one's actions, affirming: "You are just and you fear God; this is the most precious treasure in the lives of our brothers and sisters." He emphasized the importance of remaining honest and united in the face of social and economic challenges, stressing: "In the times we live in, it is better to be sincere. God alone is our guarantor."
In his address, he expressed his gratitude to the authorities present, particularly President Bassirou Diomaye Diakhar Faye, Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko, and Minister of the Interior Mouhamadou Bamba Cissé, commending their commitment to security and development, while also offering prayers for their families and responsibilities. The Governor of Ziguinchor, Mor Talla Tine, the Prefect of Bignona, Mamadou Khoma, Mayor Bakary Diatta, and several local elected officials were also thanked for their continued support.
The ceremony brought together a large delegation from Touba, Tivaouane, Kaolack, and Ndiassane, demonstrating the unity of religious communities in Senegal. Representatives of maraboutic families, including Serigne Mountakha Mbacké and Cheikh Omar Mbacké, honored the event with their presence and prayers.
The Gamou of Bignona has thus established itself as a moment of faith, fraternity and recognition, strengthening the links between the faithful, the authorities and the religious leaders for the peace and development of the country.
