Préparatifs du Grand Magal de Touba : La première réunion décisive prévue ce mercredi
Preparations for the Grand Magal of Touba, scheduled for 18 Safar 1447 AH/early August 2026, will officially begin tomorrow. A first meeting of the local development committee (CLD) will be held this Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Touba City Hall, chaired by the sub-prefect of Ndame and attended by the mayor of Touba, Seneweb learned from Serigne Cheikh Abdoul Lahad Mbacké Gaïndé Fatma.
On the instructions of its president, Serigne Bassirou Abdou Khadre, who is also the spokesperson for the general khalifa of the Mourides, the organizing committee of the Grand Magal of Touba will take part in this meeting through a large delegation led by its coordinator, Serigne Ousmane Mbacké.
This session marks the first in a series of meetings with administrative and territorial authorities, aimed at ensuring the optimal organization of this major religious event. Discussions will focus on strategic sectors such as water supply, sanitation, electricity, security, health, and hygiene.
The organizing committee thus reaffirms its commitment to working closely with the competent authorities and the various partners to ensure the smooth running of the Magal in the best conditions according to Serigne Cheikh Abdoul Ahad Mbacké, president of the culture and communication commission of the organizing committee of the Grand Magal of Touba.
