Cas importé de Mpox au Sénégal : Le ministère de la Santé annonce la bonne nouvelle
Good news. The Ministry of Health has just announced the complete recovery of the patient who tested positive for Mpox on August 22, 2025, in Dakar. He is therefore declared recovered. The individual was discharged from the hospital on Monday, September 1, 2025.
Also, the Ministry of Health added in its press release, the 30 people identified as contacts are being rigorously monitored by health teams. The ministry assures that no suspected cases have been reported to date.
"Senegal currently has no positive cases of Mpox. The only imported case was treated effectively, illustrating the responsiveness and competence of our epidemiological surveillance system, as well as the professionalism of the medical teams," summarizes the ministerial department.
However, health authorities are calling for continued active vigilance and scrupulously respecting the recommended hygiene and prevention measures.
They urge people to wash their hands regularly with soap and water or with a hydroalcoholic solution, to avoid close contact with people showing symptoms and to go immediately to a health facility in the event of suspicious signs.
