Louga: « Une injustice de 4 ans », les contractuels de la santé en grève de 48h
The sub-section of the Union of Contractual Agents of Health and Social Action of Senegal (SACSASS) of the Amadou Sakhir Mbaye Hospital in Louga declares a 48-hour strike to demand the payment of the housing allowance to all contractual agents of public health establishments (EPS).
Speaking to the press, the SACSASS union called on state authorities to extend this allowance to all contract workers in the sector. "Since 2022, we have been fighting for the payment of housing allowances for all healthcare contract workers, but the supervisory authority is only stalling. Today, we are asking the State to correct this injustice suffered by contract workers in public health facilities. This is why we have decided to go on a 48-hour strike starting this Wednesday," emphasized Madiagne Ndiaye, in charge of demands for the SACSASS sub-section at Amadou Sakhir Mbaye Hospital.
The union leader also added that a national march is planned in the coming days if this demand is not met.
