Reconduction d'Ibrahima Sy à la Santé : And Gueusseum s'interroge sur les critères
The Alliance of Autonomous Health Unions (ASAS) and Gueusseum are demanding to know the criteria that led to the reappointment of Dr. Ibrahima Sy as Minister of Health and Public Hygiene.
"He witnessed the breakup of the Ministry of Health and Social Action, which became the Ministry of Health and Public Hygiene, and what was the result? Only that the regional health directorates are still medical regions and the regional directorates of social action are dying a natural death," said Dr. Mballo Dia Thiam.
What about the reforms? The president of And Gueusseum states: "The hospital reform today has no substance. We talk about district reform and reform of the health map, just like the Health Code. These are endless meetings, and we even have to refuse to validate these meetings because the input presented there is not acceptable to, let's say, those in the health and social services sectors."
Dr. Mballo Dia Thiam also reported that Minister Ibrahima Sy witnessed the "reduction of the Ministry of Health's budget from 6%, which was already far from 15%, to 3%, while technicians and researchers are leaving."
"We respect the choice of the President of the Republic, while asking him to take ownership of the grey book of And Gueusseum presented on the occasion of the May 1st celebration in response to an alleged white book which was never published," he suggested.
