Santé : Le SAMES dénonce l'« injustice sociale » des salaires impayés des contractuels

The Autonomous Union of Doctors, Pharmacists and Dental Surgeons of Senegal (SAMES) expressed its "deep indignation" at the non-payment, in mid-November 2025, of the salaries of several contract health workers, including doctors, pharmacists and dental surgeons, under the Ministry of Health and Public Hygiene (MSHP).

In a statement published on November 16, SAMES described this delay as a "major administrative error", recalling that salary is a "fundamental and sacred right".

The union criticizes the "repeated failures" in the management of contract staff and directly points the finger at the State and the ministry.

According to SAMES, these shortcomings have serious consequences on the ground: they "demobilize teams", "undermine institutional trust" and "further weaken a health system already under severe strain".

SAMES reiterated its full support for the agents concerned, praising their sense of duty despite the lack of remuneration.

The union demands immediate official explanations and the immediate and permanent securing of the payment chain to prevent any recurrence.

Their message is clear: "Delayed wages are a social injustice and a direct violation of the rights of healthcare workers."
