The Ziguinchor Peace Hospital, and particularly its management, will now be relieved of the burden of supplying water to all its departments and the associated problems related to distributing this precious and essential resource for patient care. The hospital now has its own borehole, ensuring its self-sufficiency in providing a reliable supply of drinking water.

A boon and one less difficulty according to Dr Assane Dramé, director of the Paix hospital, welcoming the realization of this infrastructure by Direct AÏD.

"I just want to thank our partner for providing us with this wonderful asset, namely the well we just inaugurated, which will truly ease our water supply burden. Everyone knows that the hospital's expenses are extremely high, and this will allow us to offset some of the costs we owe to Sen'Eau. I think it's a real gem that will not only solve this problem because there will be fewer expenses at the end of the month," noted Dr. Dramé. He added that, in addition to the problems this well will solve, it will also improve the conditions of healthcare delivery.

"From a purely health perspective, this would still allow us to maintain a continuous water supply to the facility, particularly to the departments. You know that sometimes, when there are water cuts or prolonged power outages, a water cut often follows. And then, we can go for a while without receiving water. This well would allow us to ensure this continuity and would prevent the impact on care in our departments from being too significant," said the director of the Ziguinchor Peace Hospital.

This borehole can be used on a large scale. Thus, it can not only supply the population within the hospital itself, but also serve the populations of the surrounding neighborhoods. However, for the director of the Peace Hospital, Dr. Assane Dramé, the focus for the moment is on the healthcare facility.
