The Guinean people are preparing to celebrate one of the most dazzling love stories in their cultural landscape. Between Souleymane Bangoura, aka Soul Bang's, and his wife Manamba Kanté, the bond seems unbreakable. This couple, united by a "mad love" recognized throughout Africa, shines with their chemistry on the world's biggest stages. Adored by the Guinean public and those of the sub-region, the two artists are preparing to celebrate a decade of union and glory with a mega-concert scheduled for May 2nd.

Often dubbed the "Romeo and Juliet" of Mandinka music, they never cease to amaze their audience with their chemistry. Yet, things weren't always easy at the beginning; the two stars had to work together to build their current empire.

Love at first sight!

It all started in 2016. At the time, Soul Bang's, a young and highly sought-after talent, caught the attention of the heir of the late Mory Kanté.

“We met on stage. At school, everyone was talking about him. When I saw him, I went up to him to ask for a picture. He was very nice. As a young singer, I was supposed to sing backup for him, but in the end, he was the one who won my heart,” Manamba Kanté reveals emotionally. A romance confirmed by Soul Bang's, who confides that from the first moment, he felt certain she would be the woman of his life.

Together, they etched this love in stone with hit songs such as "Loubé" or "T'es mon choix", which became references for African youth.

Ambassadors of elegance and culture

Having become indispensable figures, they have accumulated numerous honorary distinctions and are regularly called upon by official bodies to represent Guinea internationally. Elegance is their trademark: their knowing glances on stage and their refined African attire captivate millions of fans on social media.

United like never before, they pay tribute to each other every day. As a prelude to the May 2nd concert, Manamba Kanté released a video that is already generating a lot of buzz. In it, she pays a vibrant tribute to her husband, showcasing her role as a devoted wife to a man she considers her "daily battle." The song has already garnered thousands of views in record time.

As in any relationship, there are ups and downs, but Soul Bang's and Manamba Kanté's strength lies in their maturity and discretion. Far removed from rumors and trivialities, they cultivate the image of a perfect union. Before the grand celebration of their tenth wedding anniversary in May, the couple is expected at MASA in Abidjan, from April 11th to 18th, to continue proudly representing African identity.
