4 Avril à Sedhiou : La menace de la grève des transporteurs plane sur la mobilisation
In Sédhiou, the excitement of the 66th anniversary of national independence is overshadowed by a transport workers' strike. Usually, the populations of Bambali, Marsassoum, and Diendé converge en masse on the regional capital to attend the April 4th parade.
However, the halt in road traffic threatens to paralyze this flow of patriots coming from surrounding towns like Sakar and Sansamba Koussy. Without vehicles, Independence Square, despite being adorned in its finest decorations, risks being deserted this year. The planned majestic spectacle could thus be limited to residents of the town of Sédhiou and its immediate vicinity.
A major blow to the popular mobilization which usually makes this celebration in Sedhiou so special and beautiful.
