4 Avril à Thiès : Les images impressionnantes de la répétition générale sous l'œil du CEMGA
Thiès resonated this Wednesday, April 1st, to the rhythm of marching steps and impeccable demonstrations by the defense and security forces. Three days before Independence Day, the dress rehearsal for the April 4th parade offered a striking preview of what awaits the Senegalese people.
Presided over by Vice Admiral Oumar Wade, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces (CEMGA), the ceremony brought together generals, corps commanders, and various detachments to fine-tune their performances. In an atmosphere blending military rigor and patriotic fervor, the large crowd in attendance made no secret of its admiration for the precision of the maneuvers and the discipline of the troops.
Military personnel, paramilitaries, and civilians took turns marching with elegance and confidence, offering a high-quality spectacle. Impeccable uniforms, synchronized steps, determined expressions: everything seemed ready for the big day. A rehearsal that, in many ways, already had the air of an official ceremony.
This parade on April 4 will be presided over by the Head of State, Bassirou Diomaye Faye, and this rehearsal clearly set the tone: that of excellence and commitment.
Following the session, the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces (CEMGA) convened the group leaders for a briefing. In a speech that was both firm and motivating, Oumar Wade praised the quality of the performances while urging each unit to redouble its efforts. "This parade must be a great success," he insisted, calling on everyone to fiercely defend their unity and stay the course until the big day.
In Thiès, the focus is no longer on fine-tuning, but on consolidation. And in light of this dress rehearsal, Senegal can expect an April 4th celebration worthy of its history and ambitions.
