4 Avril à Ziguinchor : Retour sur le message poignant du gouverneur
"The sacrifice of the soldiers who fell with weapons in hand will not be in vain." This, in essence, was the powerful message delivered by the governor of Ziguinchor during the celebration of Senegal's 66th anniversary of independence.
While commending the mobilization of the security forces and the local population, Mor Talla Tine praised the unity that prevailed and called for maintaining this fraternity. "The security forces (FDS) came together with young people, women, adults, religious and traditional leaders—in short, with all segments of the state. And this symbol of unity should further inspire us so that we can remain mobilized to meet the many challenges facing the Ziguichor region," he declared.

The head of the regional executive paid particular tribute to the security forces for their selflessness in securing Casamance and for those who fell in the line of duty. "I also wish to pay a heartfelt tribute to the soldiers who, unfortunately, fell with weapons in hand while carrying out their mission. Their sacrifice will never be in vain, because they made it for the defense of the integrity of the territory, but also for the safety of people and their property."
