50 millions F CFA pour sa villa : le DG de La Poste accusé de vivre au-dessus des moyens de l’entreprise
Postal workers are furious with their CEO, Maguette Kane. In a manifesto published by the National Union of Postal and Telecommunications Workers (SNTPT) and reported by Les Échos, they highlight the discrepancy between their company's financial difficulties and their boss's lavish lifestyle.
They say they are outraged that "more than 50 million CFA francs have been mobilized for the renovation of the official residence of the director general, while strategic offices, such as Kaolack and Ziguinchor, are closed due to a lack of resources for their rehabilitation."
Another grievance of the SNTPT, relayed by Les Échos: "while the Dakar Fann office is falling into ruin, the director general is accused of multiplying missions abroad - totaling nearly 30 days of travel in the first quarter of 2026 - without having carried out the slightest structured visit of the national postal network."
Meanwhile, the union reports that La Poste is carrying a social debt estimated at over one billion CFA francs. "This situation directly threatens employees' pensions and jeopardizes their personal financial situation," the newspaper warns, quoting the SNTPT.
