Repeated accidents: The Director General of ANASER points to the danger of broken-down trucks on the Dakar-Bamako corridor

During a tour of the Boundou region's capital to conduct inspections and raise awareness, the Director General of the National Road Safety Agency (ANASER) spoke out. Atoumane Sy strongly condemned the increasing number of dangerous parking situations involving broken-down trucks, often lacking proper warning lights, on the strategic Dakar-Bamako highway.

“We have observed that between Koungheul and Kidira, many trucks are parked along the corridor without barriers and often encroach on the roadway. This is a real problem that the authorities will have to address,” he stated. According to him, this situation is a major factor in the increase in accidents on this road. The Director General also brought up the painful example of the accident involving the Gadiaga team, whose vehicle collided with a broken-down truck parked between Balla and Goudiry.

Firm measures are expected, along with a reinforced presence.

In response to this situation, Atoumane Sy announced that the Ministry of Transport, in collaboration with the Ministry of the Interior, is preparing to take strict measures. In the meantime, the Director General put his words into action by distributing helmets to motorcyclists and scooter riders, as well as safety kits (warning triangles and fire extinguishers) to transport operators in Goudiry.

Finally, to better coordinate prevention efforts in the eastern region, the head of ANASER announced the upcoming opening of a decentralized branch in Tambacounda. This strategic deployment will allow the agency to carry out its missions more effectively, closer to the realities on the ground.

Pont stratégique dont l'état scandaleux risque de s'effondrer à tout moment. Dossier RTS JT ce Lundi Choquant avec ces gros camions qui continuent à le prendre. C'était depuis votre lamentable gestion. Ce régime continue d'assurer la continuité sans aucun Jumbanti Ni avec Diemé Ministre du transport ni avec Déthié le " Dakarois".

Pour eux réaliser est synonyme de faire des conférences de presse des paroles rien que des paroles aucune action efficace sur le terrain

Le problème n'est pas la panne des camions mais plutôt le manque de triangle de signalisation de danger qui ne coûte pas cher. Il faut aussi noter la responsabilité des agents de la circulation qui préfèrent l'argent à la vérification des triangles de signalisation de camion en panne. Il arrive même de croiser un camion qui a seul phare allumé et cinq kilomètres après on voit un check-point. On se demande comment il a fait pour dépasser les agents sans être immobilisé.

Le stationnement des véhicules en particulier les camions en panne sur la chaussée est l'une des principales causes des accidents de la circulation dont la plupart sont mortels surtout pendant la nuit à cause de l'absence de signaux lumineux. Le plus grave c'est qu'il y'a des camions qui peuvent rester stationnés pendant des jours et des semaines sur la chaussée à attendre d'être dépannés et pendant ce temps là beaucoup de vie sont en danger sur les routes.
