Affaire Kocc Barma : un nouveau tournant
Following the incarceration of the alleged administrators, known by the pseudonyms "Kocc Barma" and "Leuk Daour", the Special Cyber Security Division (DSC) is now targeting providers of illicit content.
In its edition of Saturday, December 13, Libération revealed the first arrest on the Corniche. The man arrested is ED Seck, a 35-year-old man presented as the first alleged accomplice to be apprehended. Caught by investigators in a well-known restaurant on Dakar's western Corniche, he is accused of having sent a sex tape of his ex-partner to the manager with the aim of "destroying" her. Although he initially denied the allegations, the suspect was caught out by irrefutable digital evidence: the incriminating video was found directly on his phone, the same source reports.
The newspaper believes this arrest is just the tip of the iceberg in a much larger operation. Investigators achieved a technical feat by taking control of the central email address used by the network to collect compromising images and videos. This seizure provides the police with a complete list of all the email addresses that supplied the websites babiporno, boydakar, and seneporno.
Presented before the senior investigating judge this Friday, ED Seck was formally charged and placed under judicial supervision. However, the investigation is far from over. Based on a judicial warrant issued by the investigating magistrate, the DSC (Directorate of Civil Security) is continuing its investigations with the utmost discretion to identify and neutralize all the "correspondents" listed in this vast digital blackmail network. New arrests are imminent, according to Libération.
