Alerte à la houle dangereuse sur le littoral sénégalais
Dangerous swells are expected along a significant portion of the Senegalese coastline, according to ANACIM's meteorological forecast. The affected areas include Dakar, the Grande Côte, and a stretch of sea extending up to 80 kilometers off the Petite Côte.
The phenomenon is forecast for the period from Sunday, January 25, 2026 at 6 p.m. to Monday, January 26, 2026 at 6 p.m. It will be a swell from the North to Northwest sector, with waves reaching up to 2.5 meters in height, making sea conditions particularly dangerous.
In light of these conditions, ANACIM urges the public, particularly artisanal fishermen, recreational boaters, and other sea users, to exercise extreme caution. It is strongly recommended to avoid all trips to sea during this period and to maintain heightened vigilance along the coast.
