Appel au saccage de bus "Sénégal Dem Dikk" : Un transporteur arrêté par la BR de Saly
The Saly Research Brigade, under the Mbour gendarmerie company, thwarted a plan to destroy "Senegal Dem Dikk" buses during the transport workers' strike.
Indeed, during the paralysis of this sector, buses from this national company had been deployed to ensure intercity connections.
Furious about this decision, driver C. Fall, one of the strikers from the Thiadiaye and Sandiara areas, called on his colleagues to vandalize the Dakar Dem Dikk buses in operation. He made this call via an audio recording posted in the WhatsApp group called "And Défar Gare Routière Thiadiaye" (Let's clear out the Thiadiaye bus station).
The national gendarmerie, under the command of General Martin Faye, successfully thwarted this plan. Members of the Mbour company's Research Brigade located the suspect in Sandiara, where he was apprehended last Wednesday by plainclothes gendarmes in an unmarked vehicle.
Taken to Saly, C. Fall admitted to making the offending remarks. He was placed in police custody for inciting public disorder and destroying state property, according to Seneweb sources close to the prosecutor's office.
At the end of the investigation, the suspect was presented yesterday, Friday, to the public prosecutor at the High Court of Mbour.
