Arnaques sentimentales : le réseau international touché au cœur au Sénégal, 22 personnes arrêtées, 120 victimes, 19 millions F CFA perdus…
Twenty-two people have been arrested in Senegal as part of the fight against romance scams launched by Interpol in partnership with police from 14 African countries. According to L'Observateur, which provides the information, the suspects were arrested for "usurping the identity of celebrities and manipulating victims on social media and dating platforms." Investigators identified 120 victims for an estimated $34,000 (just over 19 million CFA francs), the newspaper continues.
The operation, led by Interpol, took place from July 28 to August 11. "It aimed to hit transnational networks specializing in romance scams and sextortion, two phenomena that are growing rapidly on the continent," the same source said.
In Senegal, Interpol partnered with the Cybercrime Unit. "Law enforcement seized 65 electronic devices, false identity documents, and evidence of financial transfers, confirming the scale of the fraudulent activity," reports L'Observateur.
On an African scale, the figures for romance scams are impressive. "Investigators have identified 1,463 victims for total losses estimated at nearly $2.8 million (more than 15 billion CFA francs)," according to the daily newspaper of the Future Media Group, which reveals that "260 suspects have been arrested, 1,235 electronic devices seized and 81 online criminal infrastructures dismantled."

Les africains sont des obsédés sexuels, de l’imam au petit bandit leur seule préoccupation c’est de trouver une fente qui y introduire leurs bangala.
On accuse nos gouvernants d’être responsables de notre sous développement mais en réalité la cause de la pauvreté en Afrique c’est leurs bas ventre.
Le temps qu’ils devraient passer à réfléchir sur des projets de developpement, ils l’utilisent pour conquérir des femmes.
A force de passer leurs vies sous les jupons, ils font énormément d’enfants qu’ils ne peuvent plus nourrir et augmentent en conséquence la pauvreté.
Apparemment tu ne comprends rien, ce sont les occidentaux qui sont victimes des arnaques sentimentaux pas les africains.
